Archiva provides its services guaranteeing to its customers the highest level of information security thanks to a solid and efficient infrastructure, in accordance with the principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability of data required by the ISO 27001 standard.

Security

FIREWALL

We have a pair of highly reliable firewalls that verify the consistency of access control lists in connection with the services we provide.

 

ANTIVIRUS

We have a centralised antivirus system.

 

INTRUSION PREVENTION SYSTEM

We have an Intrusion Prevention System that checks in real-time all incoming and outgoing traffic, identifying and blocking any malware that escapes the antivirus system.

 

REVERSE PROXY ENTERPRISE SYSTEM

We have a reverse proxy enterprise system to publish all our internet services, which stops our servers from being accessed directly by external users, thus ensuring a high degree of security.

 

DATA LOSS PREVENTION

We have a data loss prevention system, which prevents the PDF and TIFF files present in Archiva to be copied, without prior authorisation, on a USB flash drive or to be emailed, printed or transferred to systems like Dropbox or Google Drive.

COMPLIANCE WITH ITALIAN TECHNICAL GUIDELINES

Archiva complies with the new Italian technical guidelines on the preservation of electronic documents.

 

ACCREDITED REPOSITORY

Archiva is an AgID accredited repository . Its process is perfectly in line with the new Italian technical guidelines on the storage of electronic documents and it meets all the AgID requirements to carry out the preservation activity, including financial, technical and organisational reliability.

Disaster recovery

SECONDARY SITE OF SERVICES (SERVERS AND DATA)

The services provided by Archiva are geographically replicated in a farm in Milan and data is updated every 15 minutes throughout the day.
The Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) show Archiva’s maximum misalignment in case of disaster and how many hours are necessary for the services to be once again available for customers. The maximum misalignment is 24 hours with a maximum of 6 hours required to restore data.

 

TAPE BACKUP LIBRARY

Archiva carries out a tape backup in order to be able to recover information that dates back up to 365 days.

Business continuity

VIRTUAL FARM

Archiva has a virtual farm that guarantees service continuity because, for example in case of power failure, damaged hard disk or burned memory, our servers are not affected as they are virtual and the system that manages them moves them to other resources, avoiding a crash.

 

DATA BACKUP

At Archiva data is saved 3 times: once on the storage units in Verona, once on the storage units in Milan and once on the backup tapes. Further security copies are generated during the working day to guarantee a number of easily accessible recovery points.

 

DATA ACCESS

Access to data at Archiva is via optic fibre and two data lines: two wireless ones from two different providers.

 

UPS units

Archiva has a pair of UPS units that guarantee the stability of the electrical signal avoiding voltage surges and sags.

 

GENERATOR SET

Archiva has a generator set that in case of blackout of the Italian power supply system (as in September 2003) will guarantee the continuity of the services without any interruption.
